Biography

In 1465, after his death in a battle with the Tumet prince of Mahagurgis Khan, his seven-year-old younger brother Molontaiji was elevated to the vacant Mongol khan’s throne under the name of Molon Khan, but he did not rule for long. An important role in the erection of Molon Khan to the khan’s throne was played by the influential Mongol feudal lord Mahulaihai-van, a descendant of Belgutei (the younger brother of Genghis Khan ). Soon, the South Mongol princes Munke and Hatan Bukh (Hada Bukh), who tried to achieve independence and weaken centralized Khan power in Mongolia , began to persuade Molon Khan to go on a campaign against Mahulaihai-van. In 1466, Molon Khan gathered troops and moved against Mahulaihai-van, who also managed to gather his forces. In the battle with the Khalkha prince Makhulikhai, the Mongol Khan Molon Khan was killed.
