Biography
Born March 7, 1901 in the family of the Grand Duke of Luxembourg William IV and his wife, Portuguese infante Maria Anna . Maternal granddaughter of the ousted King of Portugal Miguel I and his wife Adelaide .
She was close to her younger sister Sofia as a child. In total, the family had six children, all girls. Elizabeth was the fifth.
On November 14, 1922, the princess married her peer Prince Ludwig Philippe Thurn-i-Taxis in Hohenburg Castle. Two children were born in the family:
- Anselm (1924-1944) - died in the Second World War.
- Iniga (1925-2008) - the wife of Eberhard Urakhsky, had five children.
The prince died on April 22, 1932 in the castle of Niederaibach. The princess herself died after a car accident on August 2, 1950.
