History

The first residential barracks appeared with the construction of the Rzhevsky brick factory in 1850 . The plant at that time was a handicraft industry based on the use of manual labor, with a production volume of 1.5 million bricks per year.

After the victory of the October Revolution, the volume of brick production at the plant increased to 7 million, and the residential settlement of workers began to grow.

Their further development was hindered by the Great Patriotic War . In 1941 , as a result of heavy bombardments and shelling, the plant and the residential village were wiped off the face of the earth.

After the liberation of the city, from 1943 to 1946 , the plant and some barracks were restored by captured Germans.

In 1967, a steam boiler house was commissioned, which was converted in 1973 from solid fuel to liquid fuel.

In 1968, the brick factory underwent large-scale reconstruction, in December, a new year-round workshop with 2 technological lines was commissioned, equipped with the latest technology at that time, with a capacity of 28 million pieces of brick per year [2] . On January 30, 1976, a drainage pipe workshop was commissioned with a capacity of 10 conventional km per year.

In 1968, the living area of the village was 4082 mΒ², which was located in five two-story houses without any amenities. In 1969, the construction of a new microdistrict began, consisting of five-story houses with all amenities.

In just one year, two 70-apartment and two 90-apartment buildings with a total area of 15,600 mΒ² were commissioned, a shop was built for 24 workplaces, a dining room for 50 seats, an extension to the kindergarten for a nursery group for 25 people was made open a red corner of the plant, a flower greenhouse, a branch of the consumer services plant.

In 1975, a 70-apartment building and a children's factory with 280 beds were built and commissioned. In the 1980s , two nine-story houses were introduced.

In 1997, a new building of secondary school No. 5 was opened in the microdistrict. Previously, this school was located in the village of a furniture factory .

On September 28, 2002 , north of the neighborhood (behind a brick factory), a military memorial cemetery was laid and consecrated, consisting of two sectors serving for the burial of Soviet and German soldiers, whose remains are still found in the Rzhev forests. Memorials to soldiers on both sides are equipped at the cemetery, an Orthodox chapel in the name of St. Alexander Nevsky was rebuilt.
