Katranka

Katranka is located in the south-east of the Tatarbunar region on the Black Sea coast between the lakes Sasyk (Kunduk) and Dzhantshaysky. ^[1] The village is a balneo-mud resort, located, like the resort of Rasseyka near the healing estuary of Shagany . The spit is separated from the residential area of ​​the resort by Dzhansteisky Lake, through which two pedestrian bridges are laid. ^[2] The length of the sea spit with beaches is about 50 km, a width of 100-300 m.

Shagany estuary has the status of a wetland of international importance and is a field of therapeutic mud, which is used for the treatment and prevention of diseases of the musculoskeletal system, rheumatism, skin diseases. ^[3]

On the territory of Katranka there are more than a dozen recreation centers. Not far from the resort is the Ukrainian Venice city of Vilkovo . From Katranka, excursions are organized with visits to the Danube Biosphere Reserve, the “zero” kilometer of the Danube and the fish market.

Road transport is the main one in the village. You can come to Katranka in one of the following ways:

• bus route "Odessa — Primorskoe" from the bus station in the area of ​​the Privoz market in Odessa . Follow to s. Estuary, then by minibus to the resort "Katranka";
• any bus route through Tatarbunary. From Tatarbunar by minibus or bus to the resort "Katranka" (v. Liman);
• by bus route “Kiev — Izmail” or “Kiev — Kiliya”, daily from the central bus station in Kiev , follow to the city of Tatarbunary, then by taxi to the resort “Katranka”.
• private cars can be reached in 2 hours on the Odessa-Reni highway: Odessa - Mayaki - Monashi - Sarata - Bilolissa - Trapivka - Liman- Katranka.
