Title
The bay was opened by the crew of the frigate "Pallada" in 1854 and was named Zapadnaya Bay . In the summer of 1859, it received its current name in memory of the meeting of two expeditions: the sea, led by the Governor-General of Eastern Siberia N.N. Muravyov-Amursky , and topographic, under the guidance of Lieutenant Colonel K. F. Budogossky [2] .
Geography
Expedition Bay is located north-west of the Nazimov Spit , which separates it from Reid Pallas Bay . The southern entrance cape of the bay is the Nazimov cape , the northern one is the Shelekh cape . The shores of the bay, mostly low, are covered with grass and shrubs and cut by small rivers.
Expeditions bay flows into the rivers Gladkaya and Tsukanovka .
