History

The bay got its name in 1892 after the commander of the gunboat " Ermine " captain P. S. Pavlovsky.

During the Soviet Union, Pavlovsky Bay was used as the main base for diesel and then nuclear submarines of the Pacific Fleet . With the collapse of the USSR, the bay turned into a "cemetery" of nuclear submarines, which are waiting for their disposal.
