Biography

In 1994 he graduated from high school number 20, in the same year he entered the Faculty of Biology of Kiev National University. Taras Shevchenko , who graduated with honors in 1999. In 1999 he entered graduate school at KNU. Taras Shevchenko and was enrolled as an assistant teacher of the Faculty of Biology.

In 1999 he entered the Kiev Holy Trinity Ioninsky Monastery and was appointed superintendent of the Zverinetsky caves .

In 2000 he graduated from the Kiev Theological Seminary and entered the Kiev Theological Academy .

On April 21, 2001, he was ordained deacon by Bishop Mukachevsky and Uzhgorod Agapit . In the same year he was appointed manager of the Holy Trinity Ioninsky monastery.

Since 2001, he is a co-author of the journal “Youth. UA »

In 2002 he defended his thesis for the degree of candidate of biological sciences, received a certificate of doctor of philosophy.

In 2002, he was tonsured a monk by the governor of the Kiev Ioninsky monastery, Archimandrite Iona (Cherepanov) with a name in honor of the holy martyr Clement of Rome .

On November 4, 2003, he was ordained bishop of Mukachevsky and Uzhgorod by Agapit in hieromonk . In the same year, December 8, tonsured into the mantle.

Since 2004, he has authored and hosted the Orthodox Calendar program on the Era television and radio channel.

In 2004 he was elevated to the rank of abbot .

On July 20, 2012, by a decision of the Synod of the UOC, he was elected bishop of Irpen, vicar of the Kiev diocese , and was appointed chairman of the Educational Committee of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church [2] .

July 21 at the Church of All Saints of the Holy Panteleimon Monastery in Feofania, he was named Bishop of Irpen, Vicar of the Kiev Diocese. [3]

July 23 in the refectory of the Monk Anthony and Theodosius of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra was consecrated bishop of Irpen, vicar of the Kiev diocese. September 3, 2013 appointed chairman of the Calendar Commission of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

September 25, 2013 he was appointed manager of the Eastern Vicariate of Kiev [5] .

On December 26, 2013, he was appointed a member of the Synodal Bible and Theological Commission and the board of the Coordination Center for the Development of Theological Science in the Russian Orthodox Church [6] .

On September 16, 2014, by the decision of the Holy Synod, he was appointed head of the Synodal Information Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church [7] .

On September 29, 2014, Metropolitan Onufry of Kiev and All Ukraine was appointed editor-in-chief of the official website of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church [8] .

On April 1, 2015, by the decision of the Holy Synod, he was elected judge of the Church Court of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. [9]

November 9, 2015, on the day of the 400th anniversary of the Kiev Theological Academy, by the decision of the Academic Council of the Kiev Theological Academy and Seminary, Bishop Clement was awarded the academic title of professor [10] .

According to the decision of the Holy Synod of UOC on January 29, 2015 (Journal No. 1 [11] ), he was appointed to the post of head of the Synodal Information and Education Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

By the decision of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church of April 16, 2016 (Journal No. 26) he was included in the number of members of the Inter-Council Presence [12] .

July 28, 2017, on the Day of the Baptism of Russia , at the Divine Liturgy in the Kiev Pechersk Lavra, he was elevated to the rank of archbishop.

On December 21, 2017, by the decision of the Holy Synod, the UOC was appointed Archbishop of Nezhinsky and Pryluksky.

On August 17, 2019, on the 5th anniversary of the intronization of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kiev and All Ukraine , he was elevated to the rank of Metropolitan at the Divine Liturgy in the Kiev Pechersk Lavra [13] .
