Merlin's apprentice

First Series

The film begins in Camelot , during its heyday and the reign of King Arthur . The wizard Merlin , who assisted Arthur in arranging Camelot, goes to the cave, where he hopes to rest a couple of months. However, Merlin wakes up after 50 years, which should not have happened. When he learns of Arthur’s death, he goes to Camelot, but sees traces of the battle and attempted assassination attempts, which were restrained only by the spells of Merlin protecting Camelot. In the city, at first he does not find any of those with whom he was familiar. Camelot is now ruled by Lord Weston. Merlin heads for the stone on which the Holy Grail — the “heart” of Camelot — previously stood — and sees that the Grail has disappeared. Merlin learns that sins were committed in Camelot during his sleep, which the Holy Grail could not stand after leaving the fortress.

Jack is a young thief who has magical abilities, poorly developed, but helping him to steal. He and his pig secretly make their way to Camelot in a wagon. At first, he got out of the cart, catches Brian - the best knight of Camelot. However, Jack, using magic, escapes. Next, the thief sneaks into the chambers of Yvonne, the granddaughter of Sir Gawaine, wooed by Lord Weston, and steals the pendant, but he is noticed by the blacksmith Graham, Yvonne's secret friend, who visited the girl secretly from her relatives. When Jack got out, he was trying to steal a magic wand from Merlin, who at that time concentrated on the whereabouts of the Holy Grail. Merlin wants to kick Jack out, but when the Grail vision is both of them, he tries to use the guy as a channel to find the bowl. This idea lures the magician into a trap, because of which the Holy Grail passes into the hands of enemies in the person of the Lady of the lake and the barbarians trying to wipe Camelot from the face of the earth. Jack manages to persuade Merlin to make the guy his apprentice .

After the first success in training, Jack is trying to kill Brian for the fact that before this Jack took protection of his enemies. Jack finds out that Brian is actually a girl named Brianna, she disguised herself as a guy and became a knight in order to avenge the injustice done to her family.

Merlin is trying to find the main reason the Holy Grail left the fortress. He learns that the Lady of the Lake made him sleep for 50 years, during which time she used Merlin to create Jack. Thus, Jack's mother is the Lady of the lake, Merlin is his father.

The barbarians besieged Camelot, planning, as its inhabitants think, to build a dam and drown the city. The leadership of the fortress decides to use for its own salvation the tunnel previously created by Merlin and leading far beyond Camelot. Lord Weston orders Merlin to remove the magical defense from the tunnel, but he does not obey, explaining that such a move could be a trap, and the tunnel could be used by enemies. Jack, however, agrees with Lord Weston and spells the tunnel. The barbarians, directed by the Lady of the lake, pass through the tunnel and break the wall of Camelot, which is vulnerable from the inside.

Merlin reveals to Jack the truth of his origin and announces his plan: to create a bridge over which the inhabitants of Camelot will leave the fortress, bypassing the army of barbarians. Jack and the inhabitants of Camelot are saved, Merlin voluntarily remains in the fortress to hold the bridge. When Camelot's enemies begin to run across the bridge, Jack destroys the bridge. The barbarian leader Roskog decapitates Merlin, who lost his strength while holding the bridge.

Second Series

The surviving population of Camelot travels in search of the Holy Grail and on the run from enemies. At first, Jack, who assumed Merlin’s responsibility, cannot discover the Holy Grail, but then the Lady of the Lake sends him a vision of the location of the bowl where he and the inhabitants of Camelot are headed. However, the water separating the Holy Grail from the coast is cursed, and all who try to swim across the water are killed by the animals swimming in it. Meanwhile, the Lady of the Lake informs Roskog about where the inhabitants of Camelot are, and they begin their pursuit.

Like Merlin, Jack is trying to find a reason why the Holy Grail is not given to Camelot. Yvonne asks Jack to look at her past with visions. From these visions, the heroes learned that Burton and Lord Weston oppressed the surrounding nations with taxes and unfair trade , which affected the Brianna family. Meanwhile, Burton hopes to woo Yvonne to the Scottish king and thereby give him power over Camelot's population for his own benefit. Yvonne and Jack reveal the truth to Lord Weston; for the sake of reducing the number of sins, Jack persuades the Lord about the fair trial of Burton, which, however, is postponed due to the onset of the barbarians. Despite this, Brianna secretly kills Burton and his wife from everyone, thereby adding a stain to Camelot's body.

The battle begins between the knights of Camelot and the barbarians. At this time, Jack and Lord Weston, breaking the magical water, get to the Holy Grail. Jack warns Weston that it is the lord that is the spot on Camelot's body. Weston picks up the Holy Grail and dies. The Lady of the Lake appears and invites Jack to go over to her side to become stronger, instead of defending Camelot. Jack is using magic to kill his mother. Then he expresses his desire to the Holy Grail: let the cup do with it whatever it wants, but stop the death of Camelot. The bowl is given to Jack and brings the dead knights back to life. Graham asks both the knights and their enemies to unite, becoming the citizens of Camelot. He promises to build a new fortress.

Yvonne and Graham get married. During the construction of the new Camelot, Jack visits the realm of the dead, meeting with Merlin. The film ends with Jack and Brianna, who love each other, gather tonight to "sow the seeds of the future harvest."
