His first club was Chakarita Juniors , for which he played from 2003 to 2008, played 121 matches and scored 8 goals. Then Insaurralde moved to the Newells Old Boys (2008-2010), where he spent 67 matches and scored 10 goals. Since 2010, he played for Boca Juniors , for which he played 79 matches, scored 6 goals and won the Argentinean title (Apertura 2011). In two Argentina championships of the 2011-2012 season, he spent 31 matches, he started all the games in the starting lineup.

In the 2012 Libertadores Cup , in which Boca managed to reach the finals, Insaurralde played 10 matches out of 14 held by the team. He missed only one game of the group stage (Boka partially acted against Zamora ), he also did not play for the team in the return semifinal against Universidad de Chile , and did not get into the bid for both final matches against Corinthians .
