Barsbolod-ginon ( 1490 - 1519 ) - khan - regent of the Mongol Empire of the Northern Yuan Dynasty ( 1516 - 1519 ), the third son of the great Mongol khan, Dayan Khan .

Biography
Even before his death, Dayan Khan declared his grandson Bodi Alag Khan as his successor. After the death of Dayan Khan, Barsbolod-Ginon proclaimed himself the Great Khan of the Mongol Empire, claiming that the Bodi-Alag Khan was too young and inexperienced to maintain the unity of the Mongol Empire . However, in 1519, Bodi-Alag Khan in alliance with another uncle Arsubolod opposed Barsbolod. Rivals, in order to avoid bloodshed, reached a compromise . Barsbolod was forced to abandon the throne in favor of his nephew Bodi-Alag Khan , who pledged not to oppress his sons. Barsbolod retained the title of jinong and began to rule the right wing. Shortly after his abdication, Barsbolod died. He was the father of Altyn Khan , one of the famous leaders of the steppe. Barsbolod was well known for his courage and exceptional military skills in the military campaigns of his father Dayan Khan against the Oirats and other Mongol tribes.
