Shanghai Judaic Research Center (上海 犹太 研究 中心) is an institute affiliated with the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences , founded in 1988.

Field of Activity
Research focuses on the history of Jews in Shanghai (see Shanghai Ghetto ), Jewish communities in China (the largest are in Tianjin, Harbin and Kaifeng), as well as political studies of the Middle East. Under the leadership of Professor Pan Guang, the institute has taken a leading place among the educational institutions of China that deal with Jewish and Israeli problems.
International Projects
The center organized several national and international scientific conferences, as well as the so-called "Rickshaw Reunions" (meetings of people who survived the Holocaust in Shanghai). They were visited by such figures as Yitzhak Rabin , Ehud Olmer , Gerhard Schroeder , Ariel Sharon , Hillary Clinton and Thomas Klestil [1] .
