Hudichi

The Hoodies tribe on the map of the location of the Lusatian-Serb tribes in the VIII - X centuries. [1] [2] [3]

Hudichi ( Hutichi , Polish. Chutycy, Chutyzi ) - a medieval West Slavic tribe that was part of the union of the tribes of Lusatian Serbs (one of the three large associations of Slavic Slavs ) along with Dalemins, Sorbians, Luschians, Milans , Nishans , souselis and other tribes [3] [4] .

In the second half of the first millennium, the Hoodies occupied land in the interfluve of the Saale (Sala) and Mulda rivers in their middle reaches on the territory of modern Germany (the federal state of Saxony ) in the Leipzig region ( V.-puddles. and n-puddles. Lipsk ). In the north, the lands of the Hoodies were bordered by the territories of the non-lettic and gutter tribes, the Dalemins tribe was located to the east of the Hoodies, the Sorb tribe to the south, and the areas of the Germanic tribes settled west of the Saale River [1] [3] . Just like the rest of the Slavic tribes between the rivers Elba and Saale, the Hudichi were among the first to join the tribal union led by the Sorbians even before the 9th century [4] .

After the Germans conquered the tribes of Luga’s-Serb union in the X century [5], the Slavic population of the Zaale and Mulda interfluve, where the Hoodies lived, was Germanized .
