Biography

From the nobles . The son of the steward Alexander Borisovich Bibikov (1660-1714) from his second marriage with Evdokia Kirillovna Zybina (1668-1749). Received home education. In 1715, he entered the service of the engineering corps under the command of the Field-General of the Field, Count J.V. Bruce , who was very well disposed towards him. In 1741, he received the rank of colonel engineer, and on April 25, 1749, the rank of major general .

He participated in the Seven Years War . He distinguished himself in the battle of Kunersdorf . In the same campaign, during the siege of Kohlberg , he commanded the entire cavalry and successfully kept the besieged from communication with Stettin . Suddenly attacking Mr. Treptov, captured him and captured the leader of the Prussian garrison, General Werner.

As the best engineer, Bibikov was often assigned the construction of military fortifications: the Ukrainian fortification steppe line, as well as the cities of Taganrog , Mozdok , Kizlyar and Bakhmut . In the early 1760s, after entering the kingdom of Catherine II, Ilya Bibikov was appointed head of the Tula arms factory and promoted to lieutenant general .     • Agrafena Ilyinichna, married to Lieutenant General Ivan Matveevich Tolstoy (1746-1808).
    • Evdokia Ilyinichna (1743 / 1745-1807), maid of honor, married to Admiral I. L. Golenishchev-Kutuzov (1729-1802). In the coronation of Paul I was granted the Order of St. Catherine , State Lady from November 18, 1816. She was buried in the Alexander Nevsky Lavra next to her husband.
  2. the wife of Varvara Nikitichna Larionova (1719-10.09.1773), the daughter of Nikita Semenovich Shishkov (1682-1746) and the cousin of Admiral A. S. Shishkov . The widow of L. Larionova, her son from his first marriage, Colonel Alexander Leontyevich Larionov took part in the suppression of the Pugachev riot. In the second marriage she had two sons and a daughter:
    • Vasily Ilyich (1746-1787), chamberlain, privy councilor, amateur actor and playwright. The author of the play "Likhoimets", which was a success in the capital's theaters. In 1781-1785 he was the director of the Russian troupe of the Imperial Theater. According to his plan, a theater school was created in St. Petersburg in 1799.
    • Gavriil Ilyich (1747-1803), major general, owner of the Grebnevo estate; the head of a large family (12 children), his sons Dmitry and Ilya Bibikovs .
    • Catherine Ilyinichna (1754-1824), in 1778 she married Lieutenant Colonel Mikhail Kutuzov .
