History
Krasnogorsk settlement is mentioned in documents, at least since 1923.
On March 25, 1921, at the former Romanov’s dacha, the Krasnogorsk children's center (institution of preschool education) was opened, which took 140 children from 3 to 10 years to support and raise. [2]
On May 22, 1928, the Small Presidium of the All-Ukrainian Central Executive Committee changed the city line of Melitopol, and Krasnaya Gorka became part of the city. [3]
In 1929, the already existing branch of the city library on Krasnaya Gorka was mentioned. It was one of two branches, and together they served 425 readers. [four]
By the 1940s, the current territory of Krasnaya Gorka was already completely built up. [5]
After the war, Krasnaya Gorka had a reputation as the most criminal district of Melitopol.
Melitopol had its own famous Red Hill. That was the name of one of its outskirts, located on hills separated by deep ravines. Houses stood there sparsely, drowning in summer in magnificent gardens. Strangers were not recommended to go there. Krasnaya Gorka was famous for its mutual responsibility, dark deeds, secret thug life; the most famous hooligans and bandits were from there. Krasnogorsk punks dominated the city center.
- D. I. Dubrovsky, “Memoirs” [6]
In 1953, the city executive committee decided to open a new library named after Lesya Ukrainka on Krasnaya Gorka and ordered the city library to them. Lermontov to allocate for the new library a book fund in the amount of 2000 copies. [7]
In 2003, due to the low occupancy of classes, one of the two schools working on Krasnaya Gorka, school No. 12, was closed. Her students were transferred to school No. 4 located next door, and the building was transferred to an evening school. [8]
