History
Iveco Stralis appeared in 2002 as a single successor to the main Iveco tractors - EuroStar and EuroTech. Stralis was the first of the main tractors to receive an automatic transmission as standard. The new truck was praised by buyers and critics, and in 2003, Stralis received the prestigious Truck of the Year Award. In 2007, a small restyling was carried out, during which there were changes in the interior and exterior design of the cabin, as well as a new, largest version of the Active Space Cube cabin. In 2012, the Stralis was completely updated and the Stralis Hi-Way model re-received the 2013 Truck of the Year Award.
Technical Features
The most popular cargo modifications: a tractor with a semi-trailer and a single truck, a single truck + a trailer with a rigid coupling, the maximum possible total weight for all options is 44 tons. All modifications are equipped with in-line six-cylinder Cursor turbocharged engines with power from 310 to 560 liters. with., in addition equipped with a motor brake.
There are several transmission options for Stralis:
- 9 speed manual, manufactured by ZF,
- 16 speed manual, manufactured by ZF,
- 12-speed automated ZF EuroTronic,
- 6 speed automatic Allison.
Currently (when ?!), all Stralis products comply with Euro 5, which is achieved through the use of the SCR system. Depending on the wheelbase, the thickness of the frame side members can vary from 6.7 mm to 7.7 mm. Wheel formula options are 4x2 and 6x2. Brakes - disc, ventilated with ABC system.
Cab Types:
AD (Active Day) - a narrow cabin without a sleeping bag with a low roof
AT (Active Time) - a cabin equipped with a berth, with a low or high roof
AS (Active Space) - the largest cabin, with increased internal volume, for intercity and international traffic.
