Lithium meta-germanate forms colorless crystals. cubic system , cell parameters a = 0.6795 nm. There is evidence of other structures: hexagonal ( a = 0.554 nm, c = 0.480 nm), tetragonal ( a = 0.480 nm, c = 0.277 nm), rhombic ( a = 0.960 nm, b = 0.554 nm, c = 0.480 nm) .
Forms a crystalline hydrate of the composition Li 2 GeO 3 • 1 / 3H 2 O.
