Biography
Alexei Ivanovich Polosin was born in 1924 in the village of Vishnevka, Morshany district, Tambov province of the RSFSR of the USSR (now a village in the Sosnovsky district of the Tambov region of the Russian Federation ) into a peasant family of Ivan Semenovich and Maria Andreevna Polosin. Russian Education 7 classes. Before conscription, he worked in a printing house.
A.I. Polosin was drafted into the ranks of the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army in March 1942 as the Lamsky military commissariat of the Tambov Region. He trained in the reserve regiment. In the army, Junior Sergeant A.I. Polosin from March 1943 as a commander of the rifle division of the 7th company of the 2nd Guards Airborne Rifle Regiment of the 3rd Guards Airborne Division of the 13th Army of the Central Front . The division, in which junior sergeant A.I. Polosin served as a guard, occupied defensive lines at Ponyri station, where she was preparing for the Battle of Kursk . In the summer of 1943, Alexei Ivanovich participated in the defensive phase of the battle on the Kursk Bulge and the Oryol operation . Then, during the Chernihiv-Pripyat operation, he crossed the Seim and Desna rivers and liberated the city of Oster . On September 22, 1943, units of the 13th Army crossed the Dnieper and occupied a bridgehead between the rivers Uzh and Pripyat . Following the 13th Army, the Dnieper crossed the units of the 60th Army of the Central Front, which occupied a bridgehead at the mouth of the Teterev River. At the end of September 1943, the 3rd Guards Airborne Division was included in the 60th Army.
Guard Junior Sergeant A.I. Polosin was particularly distinguished in the battles for expanding the bridgehead on the right bank of the Dnieper. On October 2, 1943, commanding the squad in the reconnaissance platoon in the battle for the village of Strakholesye, Aleksey Ivanovich burst into the headquarters of the German battalion and in hand-to-hand combat with a bayonet he personally destroyed the German major and two captains , capturing valuable staff documents. Successful operations behind enemy lines A. I. Polosin caused panic among the Germans, which contributed to the successful offensive of the division. During the counterattack of the enemy’s guard, Junior Sergeant Polosin covered the flank of the battalion of his regiment and destroyed 26 German soldiers from captured weapons, after which he crushed the enemy’s firing point, which prevented the advance of the battalion, with grenades.
Since October 6, 1943, units of the 60th Army fought for the retention and expansion of captured bridgeheads as part of the Voronezh Front . In these battles of the Guard, Junior Sergeant A.I. Polosin heroically died near the village of Medvin . He was buried in the village of Medvin, Ivankovsky district, Kiev region of Ukraine . The rank of Hero of the Soviet Union Guard, Junior Sergeant Polosin Alexei Ivanovich was awarded posthumously on January 10, 1944.
