Biography
Born on February 13, 1925 in the village of Ozinki (now the Dukhovnitsky district of the Saratov region [1] ) in the family of an employee. Russian After the eight-year period, he worked as a tractor driver at a grain farm.
In the Red Army since July 1941. Volunteer. He fought on the Western , Stalingrad , South-Western , 3rd Ukrainian and 1st Belorussian fronts. He took part in defensive battles near Smolensk , in the Battle of Stalingrad , the liberation of Ukraine and Poland.
The title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the awarding of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal was awarded on March 24, 1945 for the courage and courage shown when crossing the Vistula and holding the bridgehead on the left bank of the river.
At 5 a.m. on August 1, 1944, Eroshkin, on the orders of regiment commander Major Voinkov A.M., transferred his first landing force to the west bank of the Vistula on his boat. Under strong enemy fire, a brave sapper continued to transfer fighters across the river. During the fourth voyage, an air bomb exploded near the Eroshkin’s boat. The boat was destroyed. The shell-shocked Eroshkin managed to swim out, get to the shore, and after some time continued to transfer the soldiers on a new boat [2] .
June 24, 1945 V.K. Eroshkin participated in the Victory Parade . Until 1961 - in the Soviet army.
He participated in the Totsky military exercises with the real use of nuclear weapons on September 14, 1954 . The reconnaissance company under the command of V.K. Eroshkin was the first to enter the epicenter of a nuclear explosion [3] .
Major retired. Honorary citizen of the city of Balakovo, Saratov region .
