Chateau Orion is a 17th-century castle located in the south of France near the village of Orion, Department of the Atlantic Pyrenees . The castle has preserved furniture and art objects, portraits of previous owners of the castle, their letters, books, clothes from different eras and personal items.

Geographical position
Orion Castle is located in the village of Orion between the cities of Pau and Biarritz in the historical region of Bearn .
History
The castle was built in the 17th century. At the beginning of the XVII century, it was an abbey and was the property of the Casamayor family until the French Revolution . At the beginning of the XIX century, the Laruy family bought the castle and brought some changes to it. In the same century, the heiress of the family Laruy Henrietta married the doctor Paul Reclus. In 1918, the poet Henri Rainier , a friend of Andre Gide dedicated his poem to her stepdaughter Madeleine Reclus. In the early 50s of the XX century, the last owner of the castle, Jean Lubbet, married Margarita Berard, daughter of the Minister of Education of France, Leon Berard [1] .
Castle today
The castle possesses over 30 hectares of forests and fields overlooking the Pyrenees . In 2003, Orion was sold to the German Premauer family, which was engaged in its restoration. Now the castle is a mini-hotel with unique authentic historical interiors. Various conferences and seminars are also held in Orion.
