Friedrich Ciocca ( German: Friedrich Zschokke ; May 27, 1860 , Aarau - January 10, 1936 , Basel ) - Swiss zoologist. Grandson of the writer Heinrich Ciocca .

Biography
He studied zoology in Geneva , where he received a doctorate. Then he studied in Leipzig and Naples , in 1887 he lectured for Rutimeier in Basel . Private Associate Professor (1887), extraordinary (1888), then in 1893-1931. Ordinary Professor of Zoology in Basel. Member of the Berlin Academy of Sciences (1930) [1] . Scientific studies of Ciocca mainly concern the structure and natural history of worms , as well as the fauna of alpine lakes.
