Geography

The settlement is located in the western part of Izhma region, on the left bank of the Pechora River [2] . It is located at an altitude of 100 m above sea level [3] .

History

According to legend, Shchelyyur was founded by a peasant by the name of Rochev, who moved here in 1754 from Izhma . According to the same revisions, the village appeared in 1763-1766. In 1898, the village of Byzovaya was founded by peasants from Shchelyayur . In 1930, there was a school in the village, a hut reading room , a water club, a steamboat parking lot, a state gossip agency, a peasant public mutual aid committee, a police station. April 26, 1962 Shchelyyur received the status of a working village [2] .
