He studied in the land gentry building , served as an agent of I. I. Shuvalov in Geneva for relations with Voltaire ; his letters to Shuvalov are real dispatches about Voltaire’s actions. According to Bolotov , "he was a rich and cunning person and had a sharp and penetrating mind." After the process, Saltychikha bought the village Troitskoe , put up for sale, where she once operated.
Works: “Proof that the mind without reason is trouble” (St. Petersburg, 1806), “Answers to two questions” (in the journal “A lover of literature”, 1806, 9), “Advice very necessary and useful to parents, teachers and students pedagogical institutes ”(St. Petersburg, 1807) and others. Saltykov’s letters to Metropolitan Filaret were published in“ Readings of the Moscow Society of History and Antiquities ”for 1869, vol. I.
