Mary Ellen Trainor ( born Mary Ellen Trainor ; July 8, 1952 , San Francisco - May 20, 2015 , Montecito ) is an American actress best known for playing Dr. Stephanie Woods in Deadly Weapons and Harriet Walsh in the movie " Dunce ."

Biography
Mary Ellen Trainor was born in San Francisco . [2] She studied broadcast journalism at the University of California, San Diego . During training, she was invited to work as a leading live broadcast on the radio station KSDO (San Diego). Soon she got the post of editor at the station KCBS-TV (Los Angeles). She later worked as an assistant filmmaker ( production assistant ). During the filming of the film " 1941 " (October 23, 1978 - May 16, 1979), was an assistant director Steven Spielberg . One of the screenwriters of this film was Robert Zemeckis , who in 1980 became her husband. [3] In late 1982, she became an actress, starring in the episode Father Knows Last of the television series Cheers (aired on January 20, 1983). In a marriage with Zemeckis, which lasted until 2000, she gave birth to a son, Alexander ( Alexander Francis Zemeckis , * December 11, 1985).
In 1990-1993, she played the role of the mother of the protagonist in the Fox sitcom Parker Lewis Is Not Lost, and in 1999-2002, the role of Diane Evans in the American science fiction television series City of Aliens . She also often appeared in the films of Richard Donner and Robert Zemeckis .
She died on May 20, 2015 in her own home in Montecito . The cause of death is pancreatic cancer.
