History
The museum project, presented by the sports adviser, Pere Alcober, was approved by the city council in 2005 [2] .
The total budget for the creation of the museum exceeded 8 million euros. The architectural design and execution of the work cost about 4.2 million, the city council, the Barcelona Provincial Council, the government and the state (all for a million euros) allotted construction money, as well as a contribution of 240,000 euros from the Spanish Olympic Committee. Such a budget for the museum’s project meant that an additional 4 million was needed, the money was received from the Barcelona City Municipal Company (BSM) [2] .
The building consists of two blocks of small height in an open space, protected from the vegetation of a decorative garden, broken on the roof. The total built-up area is 4000 square meters, the museum is divided into four levels. The architects of the project are Javier Basiana and Tony Campos. [2]
