Biography
Born in 1842 in Angers , he studied medicine and natural sciences in Strasbourg from 1859 to 1864 and then in Paris and Poitiers from 1864 to 1870, in 1870 he was awarded the degree of doctor of medicine. Consisted as an assistant professor of natural sciences in Poitiers, in 1882 he was appointed professor of natural sciences in Angers and director of the city museum. In 1885 he moved to Paris, where he has been practicing medicine since then. The scholarly works of Truessara relate mainly to the systematics of mammals and ticks , and in addition to this, paleontology, zoogeography, bacteriology, and many more. etc. In 1901 he was elected President of the French Zoological Society . Truessar was an employee of many scientific and popular publications.
