Levi, Emanuel

Emanuel Levy studied at Tel Aviv University , where he received a bachelor 's degree in sociology, anthropology and politics. Thesis in sociology and cinema studies was written at Columbia University , where he received his Ph.D. Among his mentors was film critic Andrew Sarris .

Emanuel Levy successfully combines two professional careers: a teacher at Columbia University and film critic. Currently, he is the only specialist who is allowed to vote immediately in six professional associations of film critics: Hollywood Foreign Press Association ( English Hollywood Foreign Press Association ), Los Angeles Film Critics Association , Los Angeles Film Critics Association ( Eng. Broadcast Film Critics Association ), National Society of Film Critics of the USA ( Eng. National Society of Film Critics ), the organization " New York Film Critics Online " ( eng. New York Film Critics Online ), International Film Federation ( Fr. Fédération internationaleale de la presse cinématographique ).

Emanuel Levy is the author of nine books and several films, the last of which is dedicated to the biography and work of Vincent Minnelli . Member of the jury at 49 international film festivals.
