Institute History
Orenburg State Institute of Arts. L. and M. Rostropovich was founded on the basis of a music school, in which during the Great Patriotic War Leopold Rostropovich taught and his son Mstislav studied. Since 1993, Mstislav Leopoldovich annually came to the school, where he held his master classes.
On September 1, 2003, he donated the violin of the Italian master Leonardo Rafaeliano, created in 2003 according to the model of A. Stradivari “Kreutzer-1727” as a gift to the school

The university prepares musicians (piano, orchestra folk, orchestral wind and percussion, orchestra string instruments), vocalists (academic and folk singing), conductors, artists of the drama theater and cinema, artists of the musical theater, library workers.
Scientific activity
The university annually hosts the Russian scientific-practical conference "Actual problems of modern art history: innovation and tradition."
