Biography

Born April 26, 1930 in Tampere, Finland.

In 1939 she was enrolled in a ballet school, where she studied with Alexander Sakselin , and in 1948 she was invited to the troupe of the Finnish National Ballet , where in 1952 she became a soloist, and from 1956 to 1971 she became a prima ballerina .

In 1967, she began to teach at the ballet school of the Finnish National Ballet, and from 1977 to 1982 - choreographer of the Helsinki City Theater. From 1979 to 1982 - a senior teacher, and from 1982 - the rector of the ballet school.

In 1967 she was awarded the highest state award of Finland for artists - the medal " Pro Finlandia ".
