Higher education institutions of Tajikistan were formed in the early 30s of the XX century. The first Tajik university was founded in Stalinabad in 1931 under the name “Stalinabad State Pedagogical Institute” (now the Tajik S. Aini Tajik State Pedagogical University ( S. Aini TSPU)).
