Pulicidae (lat.) - a family of insects from the superfamily Pulicoidea of the flea order. About 160 species, including the dangerous carrier of the plague - the rat southern flea [1] . They are found everywhere, given the fact that this includes the most famous types of fleas: human, cat and dog. The host spectrum is represented by various groups: daman , rodents (including long-legged ), hare-like , African warthog and predatory . Most widely represented in Africa. During evolution, fleas of the genera Echidnophaga and Xenopsylla migrated to Asia. Also represented in Australia, where there are 10 endemic species of Echidnophaga living on echidna, marsupials and rodents. Species of the genus Nesolagobius , recently described from Sumatra, parasitize on hares [2] [3] .
