Malacopsyllidae (lat.) - a family of fleas . South America 2 species in two genera [1] . They have some common characteristics with fleas of the families Rhopalopsyllidae , Pulicidae and Tungidae . The ancestors of this family apparently migrated from Africa to South America in rodents [2] . The eggs of representatives of this family ( M. grossiventris and Phthiropsylla agenoris have very large sizes (719-800 μm), which is larger than the eggs of any other flea species studied (<600 μm); length / width = 2.0, while in of other species, it usually varies from 1.6 to 1.8 [3] .
