The pseudonym Giovanotti comes from the Italian word giovanotto ( Russian young man ). Giovanotti wrote and performed songs in such areas as rap , hip hop , rap rock , pop , rock , as well as ethnic music .

Biography
Early years
Born on September 27, 1966 in Rome , Italy , but spent his childhood and youth with his parents in the city of Cortona , in the province of Arezzo [1] .
After graduating from high school, he began working as a DJ in nightclubs and on radio stations in Rome [2] [3] . In 1985 he moved to Milan [2] . Two years later, in the summer of 1987, Giovanotti met with music producer Claudio Cecchetto ( Italian: Claudio Cecchetto ), who offered him collaboration [4] . In the same year, the singer released his first single “ Walking ”, and also began working on one of the most famous Italian radio stations Radio DeeJay [5] , which was founded by Ceccetto five years earlier.
1980s and 1990s
His first studio album , Jovanotti for President , was released in 1988 [6] [7] . Despite the fact that the album received many negative reviews from music critics [8] , the disc was successful commercially - 400,000 copies were sold in Italy [9] . In addition, the disc took third place in the Italian chart Musica e Dischi [10] .
In 1998, Giovanotti played a cameo role in the film " Garden of Eden " directed by Alessandro D'Alatri ( Italian: Alessandro D'Alatri ). The singer also wrote and performed the song "Piove" for the famous television series " Clan Soprano ."
2000s
In 2005, the singer released the album Buon Sangue , whose music was represented by a combination of styles such as rock and hip-hop. It was one of the most innovative work of the time. The musician Eduardo Bennato participated in the recording of one of the compositions of the disc.
In 2007, the singer took part in the recording of one of the songs of the Negramaro group for their album La Finestra , and also wrote the lyrics for the song “ Aria ... non sei più tu ” by singer and film actor Adriano Celentano for his fortieth studio album Dormi amore, la situazione non è buona . In 2008, Giovanotti released his new studio album, Safari .
2010s
January 25, 2011 released a new studio album by the artist - Ora . In the same year, Giovanotti took part in the Bonnaru music festival, and also wrote two songs for the album Facciamo finta che sia vero Adriano Celentano, which was released on November 29, 2011. Giovanotti also starred in the video for the song “ Non so più cosa fare ” from this album.
Personal life
For several years, Giovanotti met with Adriano Celentano's daughter, Rosita [11] . On September 6, 2008, the singer officially registered marriage with Francesca Valiani in the church of Santa Maria Nuova in Cortona. Their daughter Teresa was born in 1998 . Giovanotti dedicated the song “Per te” to her, which was released on the 1999 Capo Horn album.
