Tajik State Pedagogical University named after S. Aini

TSPU them. S. Aini was founded in 1931 . The initial names of the university are the Stalinabad Pedagogical Institute, the Dushanbe Pedagogical Institute named after T. G. Shevchenko. During its existence, the Tajik State Pedagogical University has turned into a large higher educational institution of the republic with a large number of highly qualified scientific and pedagogical personnel, successfully combining educational, research and scientific and methodological work.

The pedagogical university has a powerful scientific and technical potential (more than 30 doctors of sciences, professors, 125 candidates of sciences, associate professors) who are engaged not only in pedagogical activity, but also successfully conduct basic research, supervise the work of graduate students and doctoral students.

Since 1936, there are postgraduate studies at the university, and since 1961 doctoral studies in various fields of specialties. Much work is being done to prepare candidates of science. Many graduate students, having defended their dissertations, and some doctoral, work in scientific institutions and higher educational institutions of the republic and far beyond its borders.

From 1978 to 2004, the dissertation council for the defense of doctoral works in the specialty 13.00.01 - general pedagogy, the history of pedagogy and education (pedagogical sciences) was created and operated at the university, chaired by the academician of the USSR Academy of Pedagogical Sciences, doctor of pedagogical sciences, professor Obidov I. A. During the action of the council, 18 doctoral and 115 candidate dissertations were successfully defended in it.

In 2007, the Tajik State Pedagogical University was named after the great Tajik writer Sadriddin Aini ^[2] .

Students of TSPU annually participate in republican interuniversity olympiads ^[3] and various competitions and events.

In 2014, over 11 thousand students studied at 13 faculties of full-time and part-time departments. The university prepares specialists for comprehensive schools in 48 specialties ^[4] .

The educational process at TSPU today is based on state education standards for flexible curricula. Our students have the opportunity, if necessary, to continue their studies in any specialized (in the areas of preparation) university of the CIS. The first level of training of students is carried out with a training period of 2 years and corresponds to the fundamental training of specialists (incomplete higher education); the second level - with a term of study of 4 years (bachelor, full higher education); the third level - with a training period of 5 years (master, full higher education). Training of specialists at TSPU is also carried out according to the traditional training scheme - with a normative term of 5 years (specialist - teacher, full higher education).
