Reaction
Criticism Reviews
The pilot episode received mostly favorable reviews from critics [12] . Entertainment Weekly described the series as an “Exciting soap opera with good acting and politics.” [13] The Los Angeles Times columnist also noted well-shot soap opera elements and the quality of political storylines. [14] Nevertheless, some observers criticized the series for attempting to clone the West Wing , but transferred to Dallas [15] .
TV ratings
Despite an active advertising campaign before the start of the show, the premiere of the series attracted only 2.6 million viewers and 675 thousand in the demographic category 18-49 [16] . This number was even less than the repetitions of the series Law and Order: Special Corps and Naval Police: Special Division on that day on the channel [17] . Later, the president of the channel commented on the failure of the series as follows: “These are not the numbers we expected, good reviews from critics do not always lead to high ratings” [16] .
