History
The bank was founded in 1990 in Bydgoszcz by the state-owned enterprise Polska Poczta, Telegraf i Telefon , which was subsequently divided into Poczta Polska and Telekomunikacja Polska . In 2004, PKO Bank Polski became a shareholder of the bank.
Shareholders
The bank's shareholders are: Poczta Polska (75% of the shares minus one share) and PKO BP (25% of the shares plus one share).
Activities
Bank Pocztowy's own network consists of 19 branches, 34 branches and 20 micro-branches. Banking services are provided in more than 2 thousand post offices .
Merger with PKO BP
Polish Minister of State Treasury Mikolaj Budzanovsky on July 12, 2012, told reporters about a possible purchase by PKO BP of Pocztowy Bank. PKO BP is negotiating with Poczta Polska on the creation of a strategic alliance, which involves, firstly, signing a long-term cooperation agreement in the sale of banking products in post offices under the Bank Pocztowy brand, and secondly, the acquisition by PKO BP of a bank for PLN 240 million 75% shares of Pocztowy Bank [2] .
