Biography
Born on February 19, 1918 in the city of Serdobsk, now in the Penza region, in a working class family.
He graduated from the seven-year plan. In the Red Army since 1937. He graduated from the military aviation school of pilots.
Member of the Soviet-Finnish war . By March 1940 made 73 sorties. On December 29, 1939, near the city of Vyborg, together with the squadron, he destroyed 4 anti-aircraft batteries, thereby ensuring the successful solution of combat missions by ground units of the Red Army.
Feat
On March 11, 1940, during an attack by an enemy train , a plane was shot down by the squadron commander Priyomov, who made an emergency landing on enemy territory. Junior Lieutenant Tyurin decided to save him. Landing, the pilot took the commander, but when taking off from an uneven site, the plane crashed. The squadron commissar Pasechnik made a second attempt to save the pilots, but was shot down. Once in enemy territory, the pilots took an unequal battle. The last patron Tyurin committed suicide .
