The prize of the USSR Ministry of Defense was awarded for the best literary works on the heroic-patriotic theme, first published by Voenizdat . Established by the USSR Ministry of Defense in 1966 . Once in two years, the first, second and third prizes were awarded, as well as incentive diplomas. The first award took place in 1968, the last in 1988.
