The International Festival of Arts “ Slavic Bazaar 2012” and the 21st International Competition for Young Pop Singers “Vitebsk” were traditionally held in the Belarusian city of Vitebsk , in the Summer Amphitheater , specially built for the festival.

Competitive performances were held publicly in 2 competitive days: the first day of the competition ( July 14, 2012 ) and the second day of the competition ( July 15, 2012 ) - at the main festival venue - the Summer Amphitheater.
Competitive performances of the children's music competition were held in the building of the Vitebsk concert hall. Leading theatrical production "The Wizard of the Emerald City": Uncle Vanya , students of St. Petersburg State University of Culture and Arts and the Youth Theater "Wheel" .
Applicants who passed the preliminary selection on the basis of the materials and documents submitted participated in the competition.
On the first day of the contest, the pop song of the composer of the country was performed in the language of the country represented by the contestant. Accompaniment - phonogram “minus one” (mini-disk, CD Audio). Recording an auxiliary voice (backing vocals) is permissible if it does not duplicate the main voice (melody line) and does not interfere with listening to the performer. The duration of the sound is not more than 4 (four) minutes.
On the second day of the contest, the pop song of the composer of the Slavic country was performed, in one of the Slavic languages, accompanied by an orchestra. (National Concert Orchestra of Belarus). The duration of the sound is not more than 4 (four) minutes.
As part of the Slavic Bazaar, solo concerts of pop stars, concerts and performances of many other artists, and other cultural events took place.

Applications for participation in the competition were accepted until March 20, 2012 . And on May 21, a complete list was published from 21 countries that confirmed their participation. On the evening of July 12, it became known that Croatia refused to participate in the competition. After an unfair, in the opinion of the Czech group, refereeing during the first competition day, the country's refusal also became possible Czech Republic Rumors were dispelled by the evening, and Michaela Noskova herself (representative of the Czech Republic) said that she was speaking on the second day not for points, but for the public. On the second competitive day, Michael, breaking the rules, left the stage and sang a song in the hall. The jury gave her 92 points, Noskova was not disqualified.
Draw
The draw was held on July 14, 2012 . First, the participants pulled lots, and then a concert-presentation was held, in which each of them sang one song, which, in their opinion, better allows them to reveal their vocal data as contestants. Awarding
Awarding of the winners took place, as usual, on the day after the last competition. At the award ceremony, all participants received the title of diploma winner of the pop song contest "Vitebsk-2012", and the main prizes were awarded - grand prix, 1,2 and 3 places. And also awards from sponsors of the Slavic bazaar.
