Biography
He was born on December 25, 1861 (according to the senior art.) In a family estate in the Voronezh province. He was brought up first in the Voronezh Cadet Corps , and then at the Petrovsky-Razumov Agricultural Academy , but his love of the theater prompted him to devote himself to stage activities.
Shein began performing on stage in 1882 in Ostrogozhsk, taking part in a partnership of drama artists under the direction of A.M. Zhukovsky. Almost all of his subsequent stage activities for 11 years belonged to the province. He played in Kiev , Zhytomyr , Voronezh , Arkhangelsk , Kherson , Novocherkassk , Kursk, and the last three years - in Kharkov , where he was part of a local drama partnership. Performing the roles of the most diverse roles, Shein enjoyed the greatest success in characteristic and everyday roles, as well as in the roles of simpletons. His most prominent roles were: Tikhon ( "Thunderstorm" ), Borodkin ( "Do not get in your sleigh" ), Schastlivtsev ( "Forest" ), Andrei Kalguyev ( "New Business" ), Nedykhlyaev ( "Kruchina" ), Rozhnov ( "Woe-misfortune" ), etc.
In September 1892, Shein moved to St. Petersburg, joined the Directorate of the Imperial Theaters and successfully made his debut on the stage of the Alexandrinsky Theater as Nedykhlyaev in Kruchin and as Khlestakov in The Inspector General . During a short period of performances on the Imperial scene, Shein participated in only 9 performances, performing, in addition to two debut roles, the following: Rantsev ( “Olga Rantseva” ), Belogubov ( “Profitable Place” ), Syromyatov ( “Marriage of Belugin” ) and Adashev ( "King John IV" ).
In the last of them, Shein appeared only once on October 13, 1892, when during the performance Sergei Aristionovich felt unwell. Having played the role of Rantsev then through strength on October 16, the next day, as it turned out, he fell ill with typhoid fever , complicated by kidney disease.
Sergey Aristionovich died on October 28, 1892. Buried at the Volkov Cemetery [1] .
Wife - Elena Ivanovna Sheina (second marriage married to actor and entrepreneur V.I. Nikulin ).
