Biography
Born May 25 ( June 7 ) 1912 in Irkutsk in the family of an employee.
Childhood passed in St. Petersburg . Mother died early and the main concern was with her grandmother, whose tenderness and gratitude she retained for her whole life.
My father, at that time, worked as a nurse and many of the children's games of young Baturin took place in the courtyard of the Admiralty hospital. In 1919, his father received a conservative education from M. M. Ippolitov-Ivanov . The family moves to live in Moscow and the father takes a job as an employee. One of his father's brothers was a revolutionary in an illegal situation. Another brother is an engineer, one of the founders of industrial ventilation in Russia.
There were musicians, artists in the house, recalls how Igumnov played. We walked along the Arbat with my father, went into the workshop to Korin .
In Moscow, she enters a school - a real school with a construction bias and at the same time studies painting in the studio of the Russian artist Konstantin Yuon , where drawing lessons were given to him by the daughter of Leo Tolstoy - Tatyana Lvovna Tolstaya . But more at that time, he was attracted by the construction of pioneers of boats on the Moscow River and painting had to be postponed for many years. Passion remained a dream, although he drew well.
After school, he entered the theater college at the MGPSS theater (now the Mossovet Theater ). He began to study from the second year. The course leader was Evsey Osipovich Lyubimov-Lanskoy . The teacher was Varvara Vladimirovna Zalesskaya - director of the Opera Studio. K. S. Stanislavsky (now MAMT named after K. S. Stanislavsky and Vl. I. Nemirovich-Danchenko ). Teachers of the Moscow Art Theater also taught at the theater college, and one of the classmates was the future People's Artist of the USSR Vladimir Zeldin (now an artist of the Central Academic Theater of the Russian Army ).
In 1936 he graduated from college and was called up for military service in the Smolensk Theater - the House of the Red Army of the BVI . The theater was patronized by the 1st rank commander Jerome Petrovich Uborevich - the legendary military leader of that time. Baturin, often on duty in the lobby near the front door of the House of the Red Army, repeatedly saw Uborevich personally. He happened to see the arrest of the commander in the days of repression, in the fall of 1937 .
In 1938 he returned to Moscow and, together with Vladimir Zeldin, got into his first theater - the Central Theater of Railway Transport (now the Gogol Moscow Drama Theater ).
In 1941, he was on tour with the theater - he performed in front of the soldiers of the Trans-Baikal Military District. The war found him at the station "Winter". Evgeny Vasilyevich filed an application to the front, but all the artists received the reservation and were sent with the theater team further east - to Mongolia , to the border with Japan .
In the spring of 1943, he returned to Moscow with the theater. I found an almost looted apartment and an old father. The evacuated theater from Minsk worked in the theater building. The main director in it was the first teacher of Baturin - Dmitry Orlov . He was delighted to meet and invited to work in his theater, and together with the troupe Baturin moved west to Minsk. The capital of Belarus was almost completely destroyed by the Nazis and the theater building was destroyed. The troupe moved Grodno. She spoke to the front soldiers, commanded by Rokossovsky. They stood, as the front-line soldiers say, in the second echelon. But given that the Rokossovsky’s free-range strike battalions were ahead of the regular military personnel, it can be said that they were in the third tier. Orlov was perspicacious, the director from Baturin turned out. He was even invited to the closed regime city of nuclear engineers Sarov, now well known as Arzamas-16. He entrusted the organization of his own city theater. Evgeny Vasilievich was seduced by such a flattering offer. One of the clauses of the contract with nuclear engineers was an internship with the directors of the Moscow Art Theater.
In 1948 he became the director of a new drama theater in the newly created nuclear center in the city of Arzamas-16 . The troupe of the theater was created two years from the Moscow Art Theater graduates.
In 1951, a young talented actress Natalya Kaminskaya came to the theater, who became the leading actress of the theater. Since these years, fate has bound Natalya Alexandrovna and Evgeny Vasilyevich for life. They were not afraid of numerous moving and changing teams.
In 1955 he worked in Moscow, in the theater-studio of a film actor, staged the play "Severe Field".
In 1956 he staged performances in the Vilnius Russian Drama Theater and then returned to this wonderful collective for many years.
In recent decades, he worked at the Starooskolsky Theater for Children and Youth under the direction of Semyon Mikhailovich Losev.
In 2012, it celebrated its 100th anniversary.
He died in April 2013 in Sevastopol in Ukraine .
