Gregory "Greg" Stiemsma ( born Gregory "Greg" Stiemsma ; born September 29, 1985 in Randolph , Wisconsin , USA ) is an American professional basketball player who has recently played for the Toronto Raptors National Basketball Association . Plays in the center position. In 2008, he put forward his candidacy for the NBA draft , but was not selected by any of the teams.

School
Stimsma played for the Randolph Rockets school team, in which he won three times in his division [1] . In his last year at Stimsma School, he was 37th in the ranking of promising students, ahead of players such as Al Horford , Roy Hibbert , Jeff Green and Joachim Noah .
College
Stimsma played 4 seasons for the University of Wisconsin at Madison . In January 2006, Greg was excommunicated for academic failure, after which Stimsma was diagnosed with depression [2] .
NBA
On December 19, 2011, Stimsma signed a contract with the Boston Celtics . His debut game took place on December 28, 2011, he went on the floor against the New Orleans Hornets . Stimsma put 6 block shots, which was a record for the debut match among all Celtics players.
On July 21, 2012, the player signed a Minnesota Timberwolves club offer. From that moment, the Celtics had three days to offer him a new contract, but the club did not do this, and Stimsma, as a limited free agent, transferred to Minnesota [3] . The official date for concluding the contract was August 2, 2012 [4] .
On July 10, 2013, Stimsma signed a contract with the New Orleans Pelicans . [5]
