Biography
Came from the noble family of the Mezentsovs .
In 1842 he was released from the noble regiment by the ensign of artillery. In 1846 he graduated with honors from the Imperial Military Academy and was promoted to second lieutenant on January 1, 1847. Since January 1, 1848, a lieutenant, with a transfer to the General Staff. He was a professor of tactics at the Nikolaev Academy of the General Staff.
Since May 1, 1864 - Director of the Moscow Cadet Corps; from May 27, 1866, Major General.
Since October 29, 1871 - Director of the Page Corps with the abandonment of the General Staff. Upon leaving the corps, on February 15, 1878, he was enlisted in his lists, with the right to wear his uniform.
Wife: Maria Nikolaevna, nee Ozerova.
He died in St. Petersburg.
