History
The street appeared no earlier than 1788 (the exact time of formation is unknown). Before the revolution of 1917, the street was called 4th Klyuchevskaya . There were nine Kliuchevskikh streets in total, all of them ending at a peat bog, near which, probably, there were keys used by local residents. In 1921, the street was named Maxim Gorky in honor of the Russian and Soviet writer . In 1937, the modern name of the street was established in honor of the French writer and anti-fascist communist Henri Barbusse [1] [3] [2] .
Modern street development is of a different type - at the beginning it is multi-storey, at the end of the street it is low-rise ("private sector"), which, according to the General Plan of Yekaterinburg, is subject to demolition and construction in its place of new quarters of the VIZ-Pravoberezhny microdistrict.
