History
The history of the company begins in August 1936, when the first depot was built in Zhuzhou . Translated from Chinese, it was called the " Zhuzhzou general depot." In the future, the depot grew, rose to the level of the plant, from the mid-1950s, of all types of activities in the production of railway transport and equipment, priority was given to the production of locomotives, motor-car rolling stock, metro trains and components for them.
During its existence, the plant has changed ownership and management companies many times, but has never been a public open company. Zhuzhou Locomotive Building Plant is the flagship of China Railway Engineering. The successes of the Zhuzhou locomotive plant are transferred to another 30 plants producing railway transport equipment.
The general manager of the plant is Xu Zongxiang (徐宗祥, Xu Zongxiang).
