Domenico Merlini ( Polish. Dominik Merlini February 22, 1730, Lugano, Switzerland - February 20, 1797, Warsaw, Poland) - a well-known Polish architect, Italian-Swiss origin, a representative of late classicism and empire.

Biography
Born in the Italian part of Switzerland (Lugano). From 1750 to 1797 he lived and worked in Poland.
Got the nobility in 1768. Since 1773 - royal architect. According to his projects, they did both the reconstruction of existing buildings (the palace of Heinrich Bruhl, the Uyazdovsky Palace , the Krasinsky Palace), and built new ones in Polish provincial cities. Early works have an admixture of Baroque style, which did not worsen the artistic images of the buildings. He later adhered to the style of classicism, coming from the creative heritage of Palladio .
He died in Warsaw. The grave is saved.
