Biography
Born in Helsinki, Finland in a Swedish-Russian family.
In 1938 she was invited to the troupe of the Finnish National Ballet . During the Second World War, she worked in a drama theater in Stockholm . After the war she returned to Finland and from 1946 to 1964 was a prima ballerina in the Finnish National Ballet. Her repertoire includes all the main parts of the main ballet performances of that time. The dancer toured in more than ten countries of the world.
In 1964 she founded her own ballet school "Balettistudion". She performed the choreography of several modern ballet productions to the music of Finnish composers.
After retiring, she continued teaching at the ballet school and performing choreographies for the Finnish National Ballet and for the Helsinki Municipal Theater. In 1979, she was awarded the title of Honorary Professor. [one]
In 1957 she was awarded the highest state award of Finland for artists - “ Pro Finlandia ”.
