Physical Properties
Indium nitride forms black diamagnetic crystals of hexagonal syngony , space group P 6mc , cell parameters a = 0.3533 nm, c = 0.5692 nm, Z = 2.
A semiconductor with a band gap of the order of ~ 0.7 eV, depending on temperature. At temperatures below 4 K, it is a superconductor .
Application
Indium nitride is added to gallium nitride in the production of ultraviolet, blue LEDs . It is also promising as a material for solar panels, with the utilization of light with a wavelength of up to 1900 nm.
