Desinić ( Croatian Desinić ) is a community with a center in the village of the same name in the north of Croatia , in the Krapina-Zagorsk County . The population is 365 people in the village itself and 2,915 people in the whole community ( 2001 ) [1] . The overwhelming majority of the population are Croats (98.1%) [2] . In addition to Desinić, the community includes another 27 villages.

The village is located in the Croatian Zagorje in a hilly, sparsely populated area. The town of Pregrad is located 8 km to the northeast of Desinich, the Slovenian border is 3 km to the west. Desinic is known mainly for the fact that the famous Croatian castle Veliki Tabor is located next to it (about a kilometer to the north-west).
