Chess career
As part of the US team silver medalist of the 14th Olympiad ( 1960 ) in Leipzig (+6 −1 = 1). Four times he participated in the World Team Championship among students. In 1960 (+1 −2 = 1) and 1961 (+8 −1 = 2), it showed the best result in the individual standings. In the team competition in 1960, 1st place and in 1961 - 2nd.
After the murder of a roommate in a psychiatric clinic, he was detained in a psychiatric hospital in 1964 .
