Story

A shuttle from Earth arrives at the Kudryavka international space station . Koichi Doi, an employee of the Japanese company Defy Foods, which provides food for astronauts, arrived on a shuttle, and who developed a new food designed to maintain the health of astronauts in zero gravity receives from his fellow countryman, astronaut Orudo Noguchi, with whom he maintains friendly relations, another gift for his daughter Orudo, Monaki. Noguchi, who is having a hard time separating from his daughter and unable to personally congratulate Monaka on his birthday, gives her a bracelet made of Martian stones through Doi.

Police sergeant Rin Gaga and his partner lead the pursuit of wanted criminal Kitty Zuin, one of the two twin brothers Zuin, along the streets of Tokyo . Leaving the chase, Tsuin hides in the women's toilet of the station, where he takes a minor girl hostage . Gaga and his partner are forced to stop the persecution and wait for help. While the police are forced to remain inactive, a new character appears - a girl in a raincoat armed with a pistol. The girl kills Zuin and hides, leaving her visiting card at the scene of the murder - a bunch of bird feathers [1] . According to the feathers left, the police guess that the killer of Zuin is a killer acting for some time in Tokyo, nicknamed the "Angel of Death"; to the demand to block the station in order to detain the elusive killer, the head of the station refuses that he gives the Angel of Death a quiet escape, changing his appearance along the way and turning into a normal-looking girl-schoolgirl, who turns out to be Monaka Noguchi, daughter of Orudo Noguchi.

Monaka hurries to work in the cafe "Apollo 11". After a late, midnight return of Monaki's home, Azuki's cousin hands her a letter from Doi with a gift from her father. The day after class, Monaka in a shopping center meets Mukai with a child and the owner of the cafe, Amuzu. Amuzu tells Monake, who became interested in Mukai’s life, that she is a single mother. Before heading to work, Monaka executes another order, killing a real estate trader accused of 7 murders.

A catastrophe occurs on the ISS: 2 astronauts, one of whom is Noguchi, under the influence of solar radiation , which was superimposed by the unfinished space food from Defy Foods, mutate , eventually turning into monsters . One of the mutants attacks the other crew members, destroying them one by one. Unable to cope with the monster, the surviving astronauts, among whom - Doi, flee to Earth in a rescue shuttle. The station is destroyed by a powerful explosion, the monster dies with it.

On the same evening, one of the visitors molested Monaka at the Apollo 11 cafe, witnessed by Sergeant Gaga. Mukai, who had already sent this client to the hospital once, having served him beer with Chilean pepper , stood up for Monaca. After the ambulance takes the ambulance a second time, a conversation follows between Mukai and Monaka, from which it becomes clear that both waitresses are hiding from each other (and from others), that they are far from being who they are trying to look like (which is especially noticeably after Mukai, throwing a knife left by the bully into the dartboard, hits the very bull's eye). After work, Mukai and Monaka fireworks in the backyard of the cafe; in parallel, a conversation follows in confidential tones, and although neither one or the other decides on direct frankness, relations between colleagues noticeably warmer. Monaku, who is returning from work, is met by her expectant - to invite for a date - Gaga.

Hiding after returning to Earth at a hotel in Doi, learning from the ISS doctor who had escaped with him that one of the monsters who destroyed the station — his good friend Noguchi — was tormented by remorse; he does not want to believe that the cause of the mutation could have been the cosmic food he developed. To solve the problem of a monster who escaped from a dying station and was hiding in Tokyo's underground communications, employees of a certain agency are hired by Defy Foods. The companion (the intermediary transferring orders to Monaka for murders) makes an appointment in the park, where he comes in the costume of an animated cat, and gives her an urgent order to eliminate the monster. Monaka, in the guise of an Angel of death, turns to Amuza for help, from whom she receives, among other weapons, a Red Club pistol. Having handed over the weapon to Monaka, Amudzu also tells the story of his previous owner (detailed in “ Kite - the killer girl ”).

Monaka hunts down and attacks the monster, while Kai Tsuin, the eldest of the brothers-criminals, bursts into Gaga’s apartment, with the intention of taking revenge on the policeman for the death of his brother. The words of Gaga, that in fact his brother was killed by the killer Angel of Death, do not stop Zuin, he is determined to take revenge, but Gaga manages to repel the attack. Tsuin is hiding, Gaga goes in pursuit.

Monaki’s duel with the monster almost ends tragically for the girl: a monster with the ability to regenerate quickly and protected by a bone shell is practically invulnerable to her weapon. The monster is about to kill Monaku, who remained practically without a weapon and lost one of the contact lenses that hide the true color of her eyes, but, noticing a bracelet made of Martian stones on the girl’s hand, retreats. Not understanding why the monster does not want to continue to fight, Monaka seriously wounds him with a gun from Sava. The wounded monster is picked up by employees hired by Defy Foods, and Doi takes Monaku from the scene of the fight, accompanied by agents hired by the company. During a conversation with Monaka, Doi tells her what happened on the ISS. Comparing the facts, Monaka realizes that the monster is her father, Orudo Noguchi, but with his remarks she pretends to be Doi, who in turn guesses that the Angel of Death and the daughter of Orudo are one person. Monaka kills Doi and his companions and sets off in search of his father. In the underground parking lot, Monaku, passing by, is taken hostage by the Tsuin fleeing the chase. Recognizing Tsuin, Monaka kills him and hides, leaving at the place of Tsuin's death the hair ribbon that is selected by the pursuing criminal Gaga. The Orudo monster recovering from a wound flees from Defy Foods employees, destroying the car that transported it. Monaka and Orudo meet.

Characters

  • Monaka Noguchi
Seiyu - Marina Inoue

High school student, daughter of astronaut Orudo Noguchi. After the father once again went into space, he is under the care of his uncle, his father’s brother. He leads a double life, while working as a waitress in the Apollo 11 cafe, and at the same time being a hired killer , known as the “Angel of Death”.

  • Orudo Noguchi
Seiyu - Rikiya Koyama

After the death of his wife, the astronaut, a widower , was forced to return to work on the international space station, leaving his daughter Monaku in the care of his brother. Under the influence of solar radiation , which was superimposed on the influence of space food from the company Untyped by Defy Foods, he began to mutate, eventually turning into a monster that only had a distant resemblance to humans.

  • Manatsu Mukai
Seiyu - Akemi Okamura

The waitress in the cafe "Apollo 11", the partner of Monaki. Decisive, able to stand up for herself and for others, she is patronizing of Monaka, although she suspects that Monaka is far from the awkward simpleton that she looks like. Owns self-defense techniques, expertly handles knives. About the past of Mukai - except that she is a single mother - little is known even to the owner of the cafe [2] .

  • Rin Gaga
Seiyu - Masakazu Morita

Police sergeant, a regular visitor to the Apollo 11 cafe. Experiencing romantic feelings for Monak Noguchi. He is engaged in the investigation of the crimes of the Quin brothers, but both times, when he encounters the twins, he does not manage to take them alive - he is ahead of the Angel of Death.

Associate at Defy Foods, a food developer for astronauts. He is on friendly terms with his fellow countryman-astronaut Orudo Noguchi and has repeatedly sent gifts from him to Monake. After the crash on the ISS - one of the few who managed to survive and return to Earth.

  • Torokuro Amuzu

Seiyu - Miguhito

The owner of the cafe "Apollo 11". She treats her employees condescendingly-patronizingly, forgiving Mukai is not always a polite treatment of visitors (but usually it does not go beyond the reminder "The client is always right") and Monake is awkward and late. Like all employees of the cafe, it has its secret life, while at the same time being a master gunsmith, supplying its products to criminals (in particular, the Tsuin brothers) [3] .

Cousin and closest friend of Monaki. She does not know about the double life of her cousin, considering her an ordinary schoolgirl, although she is aware that Monaka has a sympathy for police officer Gaga.

  • Ichizo Noguchi

Seiyu - Kenji Nomura

Uncle and guardian of Monaki, brother of Orudo Noguchi.

Interesting Facts

In the anime there is a kind of cameo of the heroine of one of the previous anime Yasuomi Umetsu, “ Mezzo Forte ” - Mikura Suzuki (in one of the scenes you can see her plastic doll).

Notes

  1. ↑ Obvious allusion to the anime “Kite is a killer girl”, whose heroine Sava says that one of the meanings of her name is “a feather flying in the wind.”
  2. ↑ Yasuomi Umetsu constantly uses such an artistic technique as a hint in his anime. Hints about Manatsu Mukai quite obviously send the audience to the main character “Kite - killer girls”, however, it is impossible to draw a parallel between Sava and Mukai.
  3. ↑ Amudzu is the only anime character directly related to the Kite Killer Girls action. When Monaka - in the guise of the Death Angel - turns to him for services, Amudzu hands her a Red Club pistol and tells Monaka the story of the killer girl related to the gun. Amuzu does not name a single name, but those who watched the anime “Kite is a killer girl” can easily guess that the late friend of Amuzu, who had assembled Red Club, was Kanie , and the girl who used the weapon was Sawa.
